Cartagena is surrounded by walls, which have remained as a vestige of the multiple attacks by English pirates who came to Cartagena in search of rich treasures, for which King Philip IV of Spain also ordered the construction of other fortifications in the 17th century such as the Castillo San Felipe de Barajas and Fort San Sebastián de Pastelillo, and this is why, Cartagena has been named a Historical and Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.

The history of this city has also left us other tourist places, among which are the Palace of the Inquisition, the Clock Tower, the Cathedral, the Vaults; all of them open to the public and it is recommended to visit, in order to achieve rediscover the history they hide.

But Cartagena can also be discovered in its streets, squares and parks., which are part of stories from past centuries and where you can always find cultural samples in exchange for coins; Walking through these streets, each named after experiences from other times, is like reading a fairy tale. There's a reason they say that Cartagena nights are magical.

The gastronomic variety in this city is incredible, there are restaurants of all kinds, but the star is the Creole and Cartagena food that can be tried without censorship and without filters in places like La Mulata, La Olla Cartagenera or La Casa de Socorro, or with a good egg arepa on any corner . For palates that are a little more avant-garde but still enjoy the essence, you can visit restaurants like Erre, Carmen and Alma.
